In case you haven't heard the first ninety times I mentioned it, Jared is coming back tomorrow, and I am delighted. It occurred to me this morning that his parents may want to see Elsinore, as they'll be coming in with him to help get him settled, so I naturally conclude that I must clean the place from top to bottom because clearly, if they don't approve of the level of cleanliness of the place, all their good opinion of me will disappear entirely. :-) Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm crazy. I was just brought up by equally crazy people to believe that having people over to a clean house is one of the best ways to make a good impression. Yeah, I suppose you could say I've already made a good enough impression over the last year and a half of us dating to perhaps excuse a few specks of dust, but hey-- anything that's going to work in my favor, I'm into. :-) I think I'm also going to make a nice little snack to greet them with when they get to campus. I'm planning on making a new batch of pesto, and getting some nice crackers, cheese, and fruit. It's not quite enough for lunch, but they'll probably be hungry when they get in, and that'll be good to take the edge off.

Yesterday

zapf very kindly offered to take a look at Domitian, my new computer, and see what was going on with the cable. He fixed it almost immediately! I am pleased and grateful; that saves me so much stress and struggle. So finally I can enjoy my new computer. I really like it, too, it's gorgeous, and I'm actually enjoying Windows Vista. I haven't had any problems with it yet, and I find it slick and fast, not to mention very visually attractive. Maybe problems will emerge later, I don't know, but for now I am very pleased. Domitian and I will probably be very good friends.
