Spycraft mod
Jan. 2nd, 2008 11:51 amSo I've been working on my Spycraft mod. This is tougher than I thought it'd be. But I've actually made some progress; I think I've got the opening scene finished. It's a combat scene, which is probably good, since I think this is going to end up being a fairly combat-light mod. Also gear-light, because I despise gearing up. They'll be a few things necessary, so the item-oriented players are happy, but they may just get a mission bundle and have to figure out what's useful and what's not. It should also be a very light-hearted mod, supposed to be fun and funny and kind of silly. Most of the play will be either just plain having fun, with some problem-solving and puzzling-out to make things interesting.
Though it probably won't happen, I want to try and finish it by the time we get back to school. I'd really like to run it soon. The Spycraft group will be big enough by then that I can run it twice-- hope the first group doesn't mind being guinea pigs for a novice GC. I'm actually a little worried about statting the thing; this sort of thing is my weak point. The natural person to ask for help is Bernie, but I think I'd like him to play in it, so I don't want to go running to him unless I absolutely can't do it on my own.
I like running games, and I like having people play out my stories, so this'll be fun if I can pull it off.

Given the fact that I've 'updated' old 1.0 mods to 2.0 myself and run them for the group(which I don't think Bernie has yet), I may even be the most familiar of the group with stat block 'design.'
If you'd like I could try and put together a nice generic list of pointers on statting things out, and if you still want a second pair of eyes I'll take one for the team. (I'll have to look through the book to come up with that list... but I should be able to put something together by tomorrow night I figure).
