A gallon of milk
Jan. 8th, 2008 10:12 pm I remember when I was little, I would have a hard time managing a gallon of milk. It would be kind of difficult to lift the gallon and hold it so I could pour out the milk. It would be just a little too heavy, put just a little too much stress on my wrist, that I'd usually just let my dad do it for me so I wouldn't spill. I remember thinking, "When I"m bigger this won't be so hard."
I'm bigger now, at least a little bit, and I don't drink much milk anymore because I'm fairly lactose intolerant. But even now, when I go to lift a gallon of milk, it's still just a little too heavy, still puts just a little too much stress on my wrist, and I'm still tempted to just ask my dad to do it for me. No different than when I was a child.
Maybe that's not so profound, this observation, but it's a strange thought. Puts things into perspective in a way.
