I don't care if they're warm. I don't care if they're comfy. They are unattractive and unflattering. Most of them only come up high enough to hit the widest part of the calf. One should not attach anything to the end of one's leg that gives it the appearence of a tree stump. 

Screw that fucking banner ad at the top of my LJ.  Live it, learn it, love it.

Ugg does, however, make supercute and incredibly comfy slippers. But yes, their boots are fugly.

Slippers you wear in your own house when you don't even have to be dressed. No worries there. But wearing them outside as a presentable human being? No. No, sir.

I wear my slippers at work, and nobody even realizes they're slippers. I think Ugg slippers look better as shoes than their actual shoes do! Also, the slippers have nice rugged rubber soles, so I don't have to worry about them ripping or getting wet.

But I definitely agree about the boots. I could almost see if they were just used as snow boots, but Uggs aren't even waterproof unless you apply the waterproofing stuff, so it's just ridiculous.

Nope. I too mocked the Snuggie when it first came out, but having made mine and tried it out, I'm in love. A robe is bulky to sit on, doesn't wrap around your feet, and doesn't pull up and wrap around your neck. My STO (not an actual Snuggie, because it did not come out of a box labeled 'Snuggie') is big and warm and comfy and wraps around me and has big wonderful floppy sleeves and I adore it. <3

My sister showed me this handbag a student's mom got her for Christmas. It was the tackiest colors I've seen in a decade and stylistically looked like something my great grandmother would have used as a comforter. Apparently it was a very expensive handbag by a very well-known designer, but Christ it was hideous.

Footwear trends lately are incredibly stupid. Uggs, and Crocs both seem more appropriate for Tramping around than Tromping around.

Fashion is lame. Seriously, I mean around here there are so many sororities and at a certain point of the year, ALL OF THEM started wearing those leggings, uggs, and galoshes. As one of the guys in my department put it, they put out the memo.

I wear sandals all the time, but mostly because I'd rather be barefoot and society yells at me.
