Well, it looks like the Landmark Nuart Theater is in that zip code. I spent many a night there at the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The shadowcast there is great, if that is your thing.
If you head west on the 10, you'll end up in Venice Beach. Google Maps calls it the Ocean Front Walk. It's beautiful and a lot of fun in a grungy, kitschy sort of way. Somewhere along that walk is an archway that leads into an area with a punk/rockabilly clothing store and a cute little cafe that has a peach chai smoothie that I get every time I visit. Bring some money for the street performers, many of them are very talented. Then again, many of them are stoned out of their minds, so YMMV.
The Getty is great to visit. You ride a monorail from the base of the mountain to get up to the museum. I haven't been there in many years so I can't speak to current exhibits, but it should be fun.
My main recommendation is that if you plan to go anywhere independently that's not walking distance from where you're staying, rent a car. LA had its public transportation system gutted decades ago, and in its current form is a great big pain in the ass to the point of being unusable. A car is the way to go.
Have fun and bring sunscreen! Say hi to the Scientologists on Hollywood Blvd for me.
