But it was written during a really bad period and I put a ton of negativity into it, so it’s a bit on the ridiculous side of grimdark.
Sounds painfully familiar. My game Shades of Memory (AKA Tabula Rasa 2.5) was written while I was (in retrospect) still pretty traumatized from Jane's death, and boy it showed. The feedback I got from the players was that it was interesting, well-written, and nihilistic to the point of being quite unpleasant to play. (Suffice it to say, it's the only game I've written that intentionally ran on rails, and those rails did not go to a nice place.)
Someday, I may take the core concept of the game and rewrite it to not suck, but it's definitely never re-running in its current state...
