Bah, hair.

I have hated my hair lately. I've looked pretty lousy in general recently due to all the stress-- bad skin, chapped lips, looming threat of increased scrawniness --but my hair in particular has been flat and lifeless. It probably needs to be cut again, given how long and heavy it's getting, but I don't think that's all. I've been blow drying it a lot, which I normally never do, for a combination of the fact that it's been so hard to comb out wet, and that it's a easy way to warm up when I'm so damn cold in the mornings. I'm afraid it's frying it. My shampoo and conditioner probably aren't doing too much to help the situation either; they're not made to be used together, and they just don't seem to be doing all that good a job, at least in combination. I don't want to buy more, I guess, until what I've got is used up. So, I suppose until then I will hate my hair and contemplate gelling it up and spraying it green, like I did when I played the Joker. I think that was the last time I actually liked how it looked.

Worrying about my hair is easier than worrying about other shit.

While they're not cheap, you might find LUSH shampoos and conditioners a good option?

Actually, I did try a Lush combination and wasn't all that happy with it. I'm trying to finish off the Lush conditioner I've got left, but overall I didn't think it volumized the way I wanted it to.

My stepsister's a hairdresser. She says if she had to pick a professional-grade shampoo brand that's sold in most stores, she'd recommend Paul Mitchell. I use their clarifying shampoo, and damn, am I happy with it. I can ask her to suggest a super-moisturizing volumizing conditioner, if you want. She'd know of one that helps fried hair without weighing it down.

if the hair is getting long then I'd recommend a)not blow-drying, b)not washing it every day as it tends to dry out that way, (I know it might seem gross to an American, but really, these days hair experts are starting to realize that all the washing is destroying hair) c)finding a really good leave-in conditioner for the ends at least, and braiding it when you go to sleep (so it doesn't get so tangled up that you can't brush it out), and finally d)making sure you get enough vitamins and such especially vitamin E.

oh no, not the looming threat of increased scrawniness!!!!

also, hair is always lifeless, as it's just dead cells.

But I've been using Garnier Fructis a lot lately and it makes my hair feel fuzzier than most other stuff and I love the smell. I also recommend Brilliant Brunette by John Frieda if you've got some extra cashola to spend.

I also think you should get a mohawk. :-P

When I had super-long hair (as in, down to my hips) I was used to washing it only every other day. When I got it cut, I was worried it got greasier faster. The rest of that sounds interesting, I'll look into it. Thanks!

Oh, that would be fantastic. My biggest problem with my hair is that it's always going flat.
