Another Little Monsters skit, inspired by a funny meme I saw circulating. It fits into the vibe really well, and made for a very cute joke. It also will be an interesting challenge to film, seeing as the perspective from the dolls would put them under the bed, and shooting it to capture that will require some finesse.

Day #7 - “Respect the Blanket”
From Little Monsters
By Phoebe Roberts
TWYLA BOOGIEMAN, a boogie monster
SPECTRA VONDERGEIST, a ghost
A KID, asleep in bed
~~~
(The darkened bedroom of a child, who lies asleep with one foot sticking out from the blankets. Under the bed, TWYLA lurks, waiting to frighten the kid. After a moment, SPECTRA appears crawling under the bed beside her.)
SPECTRA: Hey, are you still under here?
TWYLA: Shh! Or you’ll wake up the kid.
SPECTRA: You’ve been here all night. You’re never gonna finish your internship at this rate.
TWYLA: Easy for you to say, when you’ve just got to wail bloody murder in some sorority house. I’ve got to go bump in the night— it’s a much subtler art.
SPECTRA: So you still haven’t scared the kid yet?
TWYLA: I’m trying, but she keeps hiding from me.
SPECTRA: What do you mean? She’s right there!
(SPECTRA points to the dangling foot.)
TWYLA: Yeah, but every time I go to make a move, she goes back under the blanket!
(She demonstrates by going to lunge, but the foot pulls back up.)
TWYLA: See?
SPECTRA: Oh, yeah, you gotta respect the blanket. Well, just be patient. She’ll slip out eventually.
(The foot slides out again. TWYLA goes to lunge, but it draws back up. It peeps out again, TWYLA moves, it pulls back up. Then it just moves quickly in and out of sight several times.)
TWYLA: Now I think she’s just screwing with me.
KID: Heeheeheehee.
