A note about today-- I got hit on by a high school kid on the train. I was just sitting there, listening quietly to my iPod, and one of a small pack of boys comes and sits down next to me and starts talking to me. I was polite and friendly, but I kind of wanted to be left alone, and I couldn't fathom what this kid wanted. Finally he asks for my number. I literally say to him, "How old are you, dear?" He's like, "Seventeen." There's a brief pause, then his eyes go wide. "Wait, how old are you?" "Too old for you. But thanks for the thought." That got rid of him.

Jesus Christ. Maybe I do look fifteen.

Eh, people thought I was in college for years and years afterwards. It's really hard to tell anymore. At least it was complimentary?

This is kind of hilarious after what you said in your last post.

Yeah, it is. I guess I just prefer the random strangers to be legal.

I once had a really little girl ask me in the supermarket if I was in the sixth grade. That was one or two years ago, I think, so I was either a senior in high school or a freshman in college. It was the weirdest thing ever. But then, to someone her age, I guess everyone else is just "old."

Then there was the lady at Macy's who guessed that I was thirteen, again during the same time frame as above. Oh, well. One day I'll be very glad to be mistaken for being so young.

I remember being on a bus at 1:00 PM and having some smartass demand to know why I wasn't in school. I was twenty-six at the time.

There is a rule at the mall around here that if you are under 18, then you must be accompanied by someone that is 21 or older after 4 on Friday and Saturday (and maybe Sunday). I am 22-years-old. I still get carded. ^_^;
