breakinglight11: (write on)
After a conversation at lunch with Bernie, my thoughts have turned to the award-winning one-act play I wrote freshman year, a piece of which I'm quite proud called "To Think of Nothing." My brother, who was still in high school and still in the competitive theater troupe I was in when I still went there, called me up and asked one day if I had ever written a one-act. He said they needed one to perform. So I put one together, and they liked it enough to do it. It's an odd piece, taking place entirely in the main characters head with all the other characters being basically his own internal conflicts personified with imaginary figures, characters from his play, and representations of people he knows. I wrote it in a high, pseudo-Shakespearean style, and attached some Greek theatrical touches, including giving all the characters Greek names. It tries to define the question "What do you think of when you think of nothing?" and then answer it. I'm convinced Jared would be perfect to play the ponderous, struggling philosopher who is the main character.

I am suddenly struck with wondering. Hmm... I believe I have something to think about.

My room is mostly unpacked and clean. We just have to get rid of all this packing junk that's really starting to get on my nerves. Most of it can be recycled, so we'll have to throw things out as soon as possible. I am itching to have all that stuff gone.

Fourteen days until Jared comes.
