Jeans!

My new jeans came in! At last, at last, I have my much-needed extra pairs of pants. And they look adorable on me, by the way, with the same charming fit I found in the store but now with the actual proper length in the legs. I shall wear them today for their public debut on the runway that is my lower body. :-)

Jared is back in town at last, so my few days of carefree bachelorette life are at an end. His parents also recently returned from a Mediterranean cruise, and he brought me a couple presents they picked out for me-- a large scarf with a Middle Eastern-y looking pattern on it, and a replica of the clay tablets used as tickets in theaters in ancient Ephesus. It's so thoughtful of them. The scarf is different than my usual style, but it's very beautiful. I think I'll wear it today, pinned in place with that silver and peridot pin I have. It's cold enough that I may need to hide it under my hateful bulky winter coat, but maybe it'll peek out when I'm inside in a warm place.

About my style...

 The fact that I get tend to get more compliments on the way I'm dressed when I wear something that isn't really my style may perhaps be telling me something significant about my style. ;-)

Makeup names

 You know what my ideal job would be? That person who gets to pick out the absurd, random, mostly unrelated-to-anything names for colors of makeup and perfume. I'd be so good at giving each shade and scent and whatever exactly the right name so that you can choose the one that best reflects the mood and state of mind you're in when you decide to wear it. Or maybe is just random arty shit. I want to get to name colors Fate and Bleak and Knob and Reticulated and Chiasmus. :-) That'd be so much fun.
