A thing I really want to acheive with Mrs. Hawking is the combination of two fairly distinctic genres, the Caper, with its action and detective-story elements, and the Parlor Drama, with its manners comedy and its witty, structured conversation. Certain things, particularly the action-adventure stuff, can be a little tough to stage, as I can't exactly depict an infiltration into a building or something like a movie can. But the following scenes attempt to reconcile those elements and the corresponding challenges. There is a detectives-planning-their-next move piece, and an undercover-mission-to-obtain-information scene, complete with an element of distract-the-bad-guy-so-the-operation-can-happen. I like the idea of them, but I am concerned at how they play given the limitations placed on them by the staging.
And of course I'm always afraid of making the thing too talky. You be the judge, I guess.
