I agree that I find being a GM to be a lot easier than being a player. In the few games I've GMed most of the mechanics are resolvable without a GM, so the game is mostly just answering a continuity question or two here or there, and adjudicating a combat or two usually near the end of the game. My role feels like being a waiter at a fancy restaurant - spending a lot of time standing around being available but not intrusive. Whereas as a player I'm running around constantly trying to talk to as many people as possible and resolve all my plots before everything goes to hell.

Now setting up for a game I'm running, thats another matter...
