breakinglight11: (Tired Fool)

I don't like my new glasses. My old ones were in such a state that replacing them was no longer really so much indicated and a necessity for continued life function, but sadly I couldn't find a flattering new pair that was similar enough to the frameless style I had been wearing. I liked them because they disappeared on my face, which pleased me due to a long-held desire to deny the fact that I need glasses at all. These new ones looked chic on the display, but I'm not sure the purplish half-frame across the top really suits me, at least the way the others did.

I don't love them. I think they make me look old, or tired at least, as for some reason the bottom edge of the lenses sometimes creates the illusion of bags under my eyes. They also are not totally adjusted properly; I walked into an eyewear store the other day and had a quick job done, which made them better, but not perfect. The nose piece is still a bit tight, behind the ears as well. Maybe I'll like them better when they don't give me headaches by the end of the day.

Maybe I should just give contacts another go. I have a hell of a time getting them in and out, which is why I've never bothered with them. But I've always hated the fact that I wear glasses, and how dependent on them I am. I don't know. Maybe I wouldn't feel so dull-looking then.

Blue today. Not sure if this is just a low mood, or the beginning of a slide back into the depression hole. Today, everything seems gray and unengaging, making me want to just go home and sleep for the rest of the day.

your glasses might not be as awesome as your old ones, but the girl behind them looks pretty!

Well, you do happen to know a guy who knows a guy who can handle all your eyewear problems. Just sayin'.

How long did you give yourself to get the hang of putting in contacts before you gave up? It took me weeks to get the hang of it and it was incredibly frustrating, but now I have no problem.

I actually like these glasses, but I have faith that you could get the hang of contacts if you really wanted to. It's mostly a matter of getting used to touching your eyes, but once you get past that, it's rather simple. :)

I think they look pretty good! Glasses are actually a common fashion accessory these days (even so far as people who don't need them getting frames fitted with plain lenses), and this pair shows up just enough to say 'I'm not afraid to wear glasses', but without hiding the face behind them. And the purple says 'willing to go my own path'. Profesional and tasteful, but not old by any stretch of the imagination.

Get them fitted properly, and give them a little while. If you still hate them, take your prescription, measure your pupil distance, and go over to zennioptical and pick up something that you like more for cheap. Or just get different pairs to wear with different outfits.

You know, I used to wear contacts. But they took too much effort, and I look funny (ok, funnier) without glasses at all. So I'm lazy, and don't care if my eyes don't work perfectly. Most people's eyes don't.

Hi there I hope you are having a good day. I never had to wear glasses but my parents both do. I always thought they made the people who wore them look better in a way. Here is some great news the weather is supposed to be great on saturday:)

I think they look nice. But I may be biased, as they're purple. :p

Contacts can take a bit to get used to, but your difficulty with them may have come from the type of lens you were using. If you had a softer lens, you may want to try a firmer one, and vice versa. But with a little patience and short fingernails (do not underestimate the power of keeping your fingernails short for contact use-- I did at first and scratched my cornea, NOT FUN), I'm sure you can make it work, if that's what you want.

...You really don't like them? I actually really love them! They've got the pretty, frameless style that I always like, but with their own awesome twist on it... I think they're really cool, and look good on you. And I promise I'm not just saying that, too! <3
