I'm not totally sure I agree with your definition of self-centered-ness. I typically tend to define it as the quality of only thinking about yourself in the majority of situations. Basically, someone whose entire life centers around their own selves, as opposed to thinking about their friends or family first in some situations. A self-centered person is the kind of person who does what they want when they want to, regardless of how that might affect the people around them. And I would hardly say that you, of all people, are self-centered.
