breakinglight11: (Lear and Fool)

Aaaaaand now Casey's mad at me, because he wants to keep the car for the evening and I don't have time to get him to his friend's place tomorrow. My dad called him and told him to stick to the damn plan and he said he would, but he's probably going to be all pissy when I see him later. Great. Bratty kid. Hope he's at least polite to Bernie, even if he isn't particularly well-disposed to me.

On the lighter side of things, I got my King Lear casting! I am in the traditional double cast of Cordelia and the Fool, with which I am well pleased. And it was in fact what Frances told me earlier. Jared, though I don't think he's seen it yet, is Lear, and I am deeply amused by the idea of us in a father-daughter relationship. Kinky even for me. ;-) Also, this is the first true female part I will have undertaken on the Brandeis stage.

I am struck with the desire to ask Frances to let me design the Lear poster. I've always been fond of the image of Lear coming out with the dead body of Cordelia in his arms. That might make an interesting subject for it. If no one minds, my inclination is to do it how I did the Hamlet poster-- with a photograph that is reduced to black and white. I love the way that looks. Hm... maybe I'll ask.

Congrats on the part! I am also finally playing something I've wanted to play for a while - a male role that isn't just comic relief. Although having my eyes gouged out will be undoubtedly hilarious.

Aww, thanks, sweetie. You're going to be an amazing Gloucester-- he really is one of the best roles in the play.
