Sicky-sick

I've had a rather inconvenient cold for the last couple of days that, while not terribly debilitating, still makes me incredibly tired. Spent the first half of Saturday, the worst day of the cold, struggling to stay awake during an interesting Spycraft mod that deserved my full attention, and the second half in an uncomfortable heap on my bed unable to stop muttering "I'm sick, I'm sick," to myself, as I for some reason utterly beyond me always do when I don't feel well. Fortunately that seems to have been the worst of it, though I crashed at nine PM last night from the early exhaustion. Even yesterday I began to feel better, and was well enough to go on my planned trip to the Natick Mall. Bernie came with me, and was torturously subjected to my jeans-trying-on process, which was more annoying than it should have been because they stopped making my preferred style of jeans. The new style I ended up going with looks good, but they didn't have any zeros with short leg lengths, so they put in an order for me, and took off a nice thirty percent discount on one pair for all my trouble. The saleslady was really nice and helpful, and it all ended up well. So, hilariously, I went through all that at the mall and ended up buying them online anyway. Ah, well. Had a nice time at the mall with Bernie, and for making him enduring my clothes shopping, I proved I wasn't a total girl by showing my enthusiasm for Game Stop and the Lego store. :-) I also got tiramisu-flavored gelato. That was fantastic, and now I want to try my hand at making tiramisu. Hmm, maybe that should be my next personal cooking challenge. It would give me another way to use up that Marsala in the cabinet.

Marsala isn't really the right booze for tiramisu :)

Being sick sucks tho - sorry to hear that :( One of the people who came to Lullaby with us was feeling really sick yesterday, hopefully it wasn't as bad as that tho?

Speaking of which, you'll never have to see the Lullaby ep 1 video again - you must be so excited :) of course, you can see the ep 2 one a million times (if there is one anyway), assuming you make it out to any of our events.

Rum is the standard for tiramisu, yes, but lots of restaurants are substituting Marsala for it instead, and I'm curious what the difference is.

Unfortunately, because of my schedule it doesn't look like I'm going to be making a lot of the weekend-long games this semester. But I'm sure I'll be at something Foam Brain when I can!

Wierd - I've never had tiramisu with Marsala - it doesn't seem like it would be as good. The bite of the rum is really what gives a lot of body to the dish.

Shame about the lack of weekend long games :( But hopefully we'll see you at something\anything :)

Aw :-( feel better!
When I'm sick, I like to call my mom (especially when she's in the next room) on her phone and inform her that I'm dying. I like to do that to Dan, too. While it doesn't actually help me to feel well, it does provide a certain amount of entertainment.
Dan's been interested in making tiramisu recently. Y'all should get together. He made me biscuits from scratch for breakfast yesterday. And he made maple butter. And scrambled eggs with sage. I love food...
