Just got an e-mail from the Intercon H staff asking to confirm if the scheduling for Alice was good for me. It's Saturday from eight PM to midnight, which is nice and atmospheric, so I was pleased.

That's the good part. The kind of bothersome part is that when I was checking out the schedule, there are a number of differences now. Firstly, there is a game called 'Wonderland 2.1' which is an Alice-in-Wonderland-themed game with a Matrix-y spin. I'm not sure how to feel about this. From the description, it doesn't seem very similar, as well as earlier in the day, so it probably won't take players away. I'm probably just being paranoid, but still. I preferred when I was the only Wonderland game in the con.

Also, Original Sin, the game I wanted to play most of all, isn't even on the schedule anymore. I'm very disappointed, it looked great. I'll have to find something else to play in now. I think I'm only going to play in one other game beside Alice, so that changes my plans. I also noticed Kind Friends Together is gone. Wonder what happened to these games. Of course, I think Cyn has a different game running now, so maybe she wanted to swap out.

I can answer at least some of that. Andy, the author of Original Sin, lost his game files in an unfortunate computer crash. He didn't feel that it was possible to rewrite all of it in time for the convention, so he had to drop the game. In its place, he offered to re-run "Wonderland 2.0," which was a very popular game of his last year, and he's rewriting and improving it a bit, hence the new title.

So, it definitely wasn't directed at you, or taking players away from Alice - it's more of an unfortunate coincidence. However, as you said, the two games are pretty different, so I don't think it will end up taking away audience from your game. (For example, see the two railroad games last year, both of which were able to get enough players.)

And I can answer the Cyn question. She bid three games. We said "um... Cyn, you bid three separate games." She said "I know! I'm insane." We said "OK. Pick two. We don't want to be responsible for the death of a GM." [Note that this conversation has been very heavily paraphrased]

I know Cyn wants to re-run Kind Friends in general. I wouldn't worry about missing it forever.
