This week I shot and edited the film for #3 - “Made Wrong” for Little Monsters, to the point where I should just have to add in one more vocal performance and I should have it done. I really enjoy making these, and they’re a great way for me to learn using DaVinci Resolve.
I’m hitting the end of the month, and mostly have done it pretty easily, but I’m starting to run dry. Still haven’t cracked that last Mrs. Hawking 7 scene. But hilariously, when I sat down to write today’s 31P31D scene just to have something to post, I thought I was going to have to force something out, and I ended up being really amused by the bit I came up with. The premise of high school combined with gross awful monster behavior really is a fertile one.
Of course, yet again, the punch line (at least one of them) ends up being cannibalism. I do not see this changing anytime soon.

Day #28 - “The Cool Kids’ Table”
From Little Monsters by Phoebe Roberts
DRACULAURA, a vampire girl, late teens
CLEO DENILE, a mummy girl, late teens
TORALEI STRIPE, a werecat, late teens
ABBEY BOMINABLE, a yeti girl, late teens
FRANKIE STEIN, a non-binary Frankenstein, late teens
~~~
(The popular girls DRACULAURA, CLEO, and TORALEI sit together at the lunch table. ABBEY approaches.)
ABBEY: Is this seat taken?
DRACULAURA: Depends. Are you cool enough to sit with us?
ABBEY: You better believe it.
CLEO: Hm. Prove it.
(She uses her yeti powers to freeze CLEO.)
DRACULAURA: Hm. Pretty cool. But are you fierce enough?
(Pause. ABBEY exits. Sounds of crunching, chopping, and tearing can be heard from offscreen. DRACULAURA drinks from her blood slurpee.)
(ABBEY returns carrying an assortment of body parts— including FRANKIE’s severed head. She dumps them on the table.)
DRACULAURA: Hm. Pretty fierce.
TORALEI: Okay, fresh meat. Take a seat.
(ABBEY sits with them as CLEO unfreezes.)
CLEO: Well. I guess she did bring us lunch.
(The girls crunch into the body parts.)
FRANKIE: Oh, my God. I’m at the cool kids’ table!
