Sometimes a drag

Tomorrow I'm going to need to find a way to go get my prescription. My parents don't know I'm on it and my car is in the shop at the moment, so I need to come up with a decent reason to borrow a car. When I want to go somewhere, especially in one of their cars, my parents aren't big on the answer to the question "Where are you going?" being "Out." Being home can be a drag sometimes-- I want to show respect for my parents, their rules, their feelings, but a lot of the time doing that makes me feel like a teenager.

Which would cause more problems, to be caught, or to be upfront about it? On a functional level, you are an adult; sometimes you have to remind the parents of that. (I know I still need to remind my mom sometimes.)

I'd just rather not deal with the irrational worrying it would inevitably cause. If I can avoid that, I'd prefer to.

That's what I was going to say. Say you need, or even just want, to go to the bookstore for a while. Say you're going stir-crazy and you need a little "Phoebe-time" outside the house.

One of the reasons I switched to the shot was I don't always have time to go to the drug store when I need a refill. That's how busy my job keeps me. :\

"I want to go to the library/movies/game store" is probably your best bet. As long as you do want to go and do go it's not even a lie. It's a lie of omission, which can be worse, but when dealing with parents sometimes practicality trumps morality.
