Computer troubles, larp progress
Aug. 16th, 2008 08:17 pmWalked to the post office this morning to pick up my stopgap laptop sent to me by my dad. Lugged the thing home, set it up, and tried to turn it on-- only to have it refuse to start up due to "fan issue". Those of you who are familiar with my previous computer's fan and heat transfer issues can see the bitter, gut-twisting irony. I haven't managed to get a hold of my Dad today, but according to him the thing was fairly decent when he set it up for me, and he certainly wouldn't have sent me a broken computer. Right now I'm on my awful, slow, irritating old laptop, which I must say despite its myriad problems, is still technically the most reliable machine currently in my possession. At least I can write on it, and get on the Internet, which is more than I can say for any of the others.
On the plus side of things today, have done a satisfying chunk of work on Men of Respect. It's new stuff mostly, so I'm excited to run it by Jared. I think I've got a new plot that could occupy a good number of characters started, and will continue to work it out. It surprises me at how complicated some of this stuff turns out to be, and how tough it is to work out. Wish us luck!
