New HTP show
Dec. 8th, 2008 11:03 pmI am now in my bedroom in my jammies getting ready for bed, sitting comfortably thanks to the new space heater I picked up on my last run to Target. It needs to be cranked up kind of high to actually get the room as warm as I want it to be, but I'm very glad it manages to accomplish the task. I'm still kind of afraid of the thing, since its body gets quite hot,
The Hold Thy Peace proposal meeting has come and gone, and the result is we will have Taylor's Midsummer Night's Dream set in Eido Japan. I didn't vote for him myself, but evidently he impressed enough people with his proposal to get the thing through. I confess, I have my reservations-- Taylor has a tendency to think he's always right, and that does not always make for a harmonious actor-director relationship. Also, I don't know how much he knows about theater and the art of creating it. But I care about Hold Thy Peace, and so I am committed to helping this show in any way I can. Taylor has been rather respecting my opinion lately, and has said he welcomes my advice on matters of directing, so perhaps if I establish a frank and collaborative relationship with him, I can help him put on a good show while talking him out of his more tiresome tendencies.
