My complete Halloween costume
Nov. 9th, 2014 07:34 pmI never actually took a picture of myself in my complete Halloween costume, but
john_in_boston kindly took the only one I got.

Some of you managed to guess from the work-in-progress photos, but now that Halloween's over I will confirm that I was in fact going as Diana Aurelia, the female protagonist of Bernie and my screenplay Adonis, in her triumphal garb. You may laugh at me for dressing as my own character, but I enjoyed it. I liked how the cape, tunic, and armor turned out, which was also good practice for what I had to make for She Kills Monsters. The only thing I didn't quite manage to my satisfaction were the laurels; I never managed to make a wreath that looked good, so I just tucked gold sprigs into my headband. I also decided I didn't want to spend money on props. As to that, I will repeat to you the joke I told all night, "You'll have to imagine the gladius. And the gorgeous blond gladiator clinging to my leg."
