breakinglight11Well, boys and girls, Phoebe has completed her sophomore year at Brandeis and has returned home. While it's nice to be in my own room again and be able to relax, I can't tell you how much I miss everyone already. It's going to be hard being away, but I will do my best to keep in contact with everyone.
While I am at home and do not have the burden of schoolwork, I shall be attending to many personal projects. This list goes as follows:
1. Writing the sourcebook for Alice. This first means completing the editing process, which has been started but isn't done yet. Secondly, this means explicitly writing out information and instructions that at the moment only exist in my head. This is basically getting the game in a shape where I could hand it off to another person who knows absolutely nothing going into it and they would have all the information they need to Gm it themselves just by reading it. Not that I have any plans to hand it off any time soon, but I would like to be able to do that eventually-- maybe even license it someday-- so I'd like to have it prepared.
2. Working on a new LARP, a gangster-themed game set in the 1940s called Men of Respect, a collaboration I'm doing with Jared. The Mafia fascinates me, and I had such a blast with Alice that I want to make another game and have the joy of watching it unfold again. I've also never collaborated with anyone before, so this will be a fun new experience. Jared, my love, if I turn into a control freak, you have my permission-- nay, my charge --to smack some sense into me.
3. Working on blocking and interpreting Hamlet so I'll be totally prepared for my show next semester. I want my plan to be as well-laid-out as possible so I have to do as little planning as possible while I also have to worry about schoolwork. I'm having a simple set, which I'm also designing this summer, and I'm going to be in contact with Dianna and Daniel to work out costuming and lights as far ahead of time as possible. As a side note, I'm on the lookout for an assistant stage manager, a sound designer, and a fight choreographer, so if you or anyone you know might be interested in helping out, please let me know.
So those are my big summer projects. I'll have to balance that with a summer job, but I'm really hoping to make a dent in these things. I miss you all, and I shall keep you apprised of my progress.
