Have internship-work tonight. I hate how our meetings are scheduled for an hour and then go for three or four. At least I'm getting paid for it. I prefer the independent part, where I'm doing the writing on my own time. I spent two hours and fifteen minutes this week trying to make cleaning a dishwasher sound funny. Now I'm waiting for a call from my boss. I'm hoping it won't take long; I'm uncomfortable talking on the phone to people I don't know well.

Got a paper for Chaucer due on Friday. It's really the only big bit of schoolwork I have for the moment. It's got to be about a word that isn't in use anymore, and it's got to be five or six pages. How the hell do you write six pages about a word?

I'm uncomfortable talking on the phone with people I do know well, even. =P

Also, I wish I heard back from companies so I, too, would have an internship. I've got resumes out there and have heard nothing, so I have my parents on my back about something I can't control. >.>

As for six pages about a word... I suppose you pick one that has a lot of historical and cultural context behind it? A racial slur that's fallen out of mainstream use, or a political term that no longer applies, for instance, would be a very loaded word you could write lots about.
