Sherlock Holmes opens tonight!

At last, at last, we are at opening night for Sherlock Holmes! I am extremely excited. Having this role has been so wonderful for me. I've loved the chance to really build this performance, the way I talk, the way I carry myself. It's also restored a lot of my confidence that was eroded by two years of not getting the chance to be onstage. I really feel good about this show, with its high production values and fantastic cast, and I'm very honored that so many of you are coming to see it.

Still a little nervous, though. I have about seven costume changes to get through over the course of the show, and pretty much all of them are quick changes. There's all these little hooks and eyes that I can't see without my glasses in the dark. I think I have them down now, with the help of the lovely and obliging costumer Stephanie backstage, but I'm still a bit anxious about it. Other than that, though, the show is crisp and quick and visually rich, so I hope I can measure up to it all.

Looks like Brewer and I will be seeing you on the 8th instead of tomorrow the 3rd. I'm sorry to put it off, but I'm definitely still really excited!
