"Nobody who eats as much as you do is that anorexically thin."
"I'm not anorexically thin."
"Well, you're tiny."

I had this conversation with my brother before dinner last night. His first comment was mostly to be an ass, because his sense of humor tends toward the mean and annoying, but the "tiny" part, no matter how many times I hear it, always kind of strikes me. It's strange, since people calling me "tiny" is a fairly frequent occurence. But for some reason whenever I hear it, part of me is always like, "Really? That's how you see me?" because I don't necessarily see myself this way. Perspective is a funny thing. I think because I'm with myself all the time-- as anyone must be --I make up my conception of normal. "Normal" kind of implies, qualitatively, nothing in particular, such as not being particularly large or small. I guess it's hard to view something that's there all the time for you as something qualitatively extreme or out of the ordinary. Interesting the way the mind can work.

I've been saying it for years: I'm normal sized, you're all just short!

As the guy on the other end of the spectrum I sympathize. There's really nothing that can be done about it. I've got a question though, do you tend to get a comment or two about your size every time you go someplace you aren't a regular visitor of?

Actually, I hear it more often from people who know me. Maybe that makes them feel comfortable enough to comment on it. Of course, exceptional height is one of those things unfamiliar people notice more quickly than me being slim and on the short side of average.

I've never thought of you as particularly tiny, but my taste in women tends to run towards the slimmer end of the spectrum, so I'm a tad biased.
