Friday night Jared and I had a romantic evening out. We needed it, given how much stress we've both been under lately. It was lovely. We had a geeky start to the evening by playing a little through the Ulyaoth version of Eternal Darkness, then went out for a really nice dinner at the Elephant Walk, and then went out to see Quantum of Solace. Hopefully we'll be able to have more nights like this, rather than constant too-busy-ness. Gave me a real warm fuzzy feeling.

It's so goddamn cold in Elsinore lately that I bought a pair of gloves for wearing around the house. Also, I blow dried all my clothes this morning before I put them on to warm them up. I contemplated putting my underwear in the microwave, but I'm terrified of an elastic fire or a bra clasp explosion. To whomever discovers my frozen corpse, as will inevitably happen sooner or later, I hope it's not too burdensome to drag back for proper burial. I think I may need to invest in a space heater. I'm a little afraid too, given how dangerous they can be. Knowing me, I'll forget about it and leave it running until bursts into flames, or carelessly toss an article of clothing on top of it when I take it off at night and start a fire. Or desperately take it into bed at me when I'm freezing at night, cuddling up with it until it burns me to a crisp.

You may want to consider a heated mattress pad. Safer than a space heater, AND you can take it to bed with you!

Electric blankets can be really nice, too, speaking from experience ^__^

They actually make decently safe space heaters as well these days. I mean, like anything producing heat, you should be careful with them, but they're nothing like the death traps they were in the 80s and early 90s :)

You know, you could also just turn up the thermostat.... Go to the little box on the wall next to the coat closet, flip the door open downwards, and click the up arrow until you hit 68 or so. The heat'll click on and you'll be warmer.

When I lived off campus, I bought an electic blanket. It was my best friend on those freezing cold nights.
