My new computer has arrived! Is is, I believe, called a Dell XPS One, and it is lovely. It's a flat screen with side-mounted speakers that has its processor built right into it, making it delightfully compact and with a minimum of irritating cords running from it. Bernie teased me by saying it's like Dell made an iMac. Yeah, yeah, whatever, I don't like Macs and don't want one, leave me alone already. Anyway. He and my dad very kindly sacrificed their evening last night to set the thing up for me. Thank you, Dad and Bernie, for rescuing this helplessly un-tech-savvy moron. The only thing they couldn't seem to get going was the TV function. Not sure what the problem is. It seemed to be working, but when my dad picked up the cable box it just went out. They tested the box at another TV, and the box itself seems to be working, so that doesn't seem to be the problem, and the cables are new. I seriously, seriously hope the problem isn't with the brand-new computer. That is very much NOT something I'd like to deal with. *Sigh* I hope we figure this out, I really miss having that TV in my room.

New Compy's name is Domitian, by the way. In keeping with the precedent set by Constantine, I'm naming all my machines after ancient Romans. Actually, now that I think of it, a friend of mine decided my phone's name was Portia, like the wife of Brutus, so though I never used it the precedent is actually older than I thought. Maybe my iPod should be Vespasian.
