Dear Peggy,
I’m told using your cellphone to call people is hopelessly old-fashioned, so I am doing my best to figure out this texting thing. Even though it’s much harder to peck out messages with these tiny buttons than press just one to talk. But I’m trying to get with the times. How am I doing?

PEGGY
Oh, dear. If your use of salutation and signature didn’t catch you out, your correct punctuation and grammar marks you for the relic you are.

STEVE
Oh, no. Things do seem to move faster these days— do folks not have time to say hello and goodbye?

PEGGY
Not when they can’t even be bothered to use commas.
Suppose it’s deuced difficult when you’ve got a steering wheel in one hand and a latte in the other.

STEVE
Sometimes I think I’m never going to get the hang of this century.

PEGGY
Darling, my grandson communicates entirely through animations on a three-second loop. I’m not sure that you want to.
