PEGGY

STEVE
Well. I’m trying to update myself a little.

PEGGY
In what way?

STEVE
My appearance, I mean. To get a little more with the times.
My new teammate Agent Romanov has been getting after me for my old man pants for a couple years now.

PEGGY
Oh, goodness. I respect the impulse, but I’m not sure I’m the freshest perspective.

STEVE
I think in this case, yours is the perspective I need.

PEGGY
Then by all means.

STEVE
Sanity check me, please— is this shirt I wore for my run today indecent?
Even by today’s standards?

Oh. Oh, my.

STEVE
I knew it.
It’s SHIELD-issue. I knew it was too tight, but they told me that people wear them like that these days.
I’ll throw it out.

PEGGY
Not so fast.
I’ll concede it may be indecent. But I am certainly not recommending you throw it out.

STEVE
I’m getting a mixed message from you, Peg.

PEGGY
Not mixed at all.
SHEILD is my old organization, you know. On some level, I suppose I did this to you.
And you’ve always trusted my judgment. Haven’t you?

STEVE
Well. Maybe it’s a bit much for public.
But I’ll see what the weather’s like out next time I’m due for a visit.
